Mankato
Tom Emmer kicked off a statewide tour today in Mankato contrasting himself with the other four candidates for governor on the issues of taxation, government reform and job creation. Emmer is the only candidate in the race who has pledged to grow private sector jobs in Minnesota without raising taxes.
“The Minnesota Vikings, who begin training camp here in Mankato today, have a pretty good playbook, making it all the way to the NFC Championship game last year,” said Emmer. “My friends in the DFL party have their own training camp of sorts next week with their primary election.
The Emmer for Governor campaign got a new RV so Tom Emmer and his family took a trip from Austin to Montevideo to meet with Minnesotans across the state.
Every state has the constitutional authority, even the obligation to protect its citizens from any threat to the safety of their person or their property.
The Court in this case ignores the real constitutional question in an attempt to justify the federal government’s failure to secure our borders and create a realistic, consistent, easy to understand path to citizenship. We need to encourage immigrants who still desire the freedom and opportunity the United States is supposed to offer to enter this country legally and, further, to become productive and contributing members of the community.
The Crookston Times:
The Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota Department of Health and, especially, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agencies were cited by Republican-endorsed gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer during a Monday visit with supporters in Crookston as examples of bloated, overly aggressive state agencies that he'd rein in if elected. Their budgets and staffs are so large and the regulations they oversee are so immense, Emmer said at RBJ's Family Restaurant, that it seems as though they actually compete as enforcement agents when Minnesota businesses and farmers are in apparent violation.
The Bemidji Pioneer:
No rally, no press conference, no crowds. This time Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer came to Bemidji to learn.
“I want to make sure people in outstate Minnesota know that this candidate is interested in specific issues to outstate Minnesota,” Emmer said Tuesday as he spent an hour with Paul Bunyan Telephone Cooperative officials.
We have a new EmmerTruth up to set the record straight about Tom Emmer and drunk driver legislation.
Tom Emmer never introduced legislation to reduce penalties for drunk drivers.
This is an old charge first leveled by a liberal blogger. It was later picked up by the Star Tribune in a story back in March 2009. It was also used as an attack by Tom’s opponent in the Republican endorsement for governor in May 2010.

The Grand Forks Herald:
Republican candidate Tom Emmer said there’s a pretty simple difference that makes him stand out in the crowded Minnesota governor race – the other candidates’ proposals would simply be “business as usual” when the state really needs a “new direction.”
Emmer was at Thief River Falls’ Black Cat Sports Bar and Grill on Monday to discuss jobs and economic development before taking questions from about 25 people.
The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead:
Tom Emmer made a stop in Moorhead on Monday to talk to area farmers, something he vowed he would do on a regular basis if elected governor of Minnesota.
“It is just the beginning,” said Emmer, a state representative and the Republican-endorsed candidate for governor.
